Why Payload Is the Real Mid-Size Story
Mid-size pickups carry meaningfully less payload than half-tons, but tongue weight is a percentage of the trailer, not of your truck. The trailer does not scale itself down for you.

Why This Page Publishes No Comparison Table of Tow Ratings
This site publishes a capacity figure only when it can be traced to the manufacturer's own towing guide or spec sheet for a named model year. For the current model year, dealer and aggregator pages consistently place the GM twins at the top of the segment, the Ranger a few hundred pounds behind, and the Tacoma below both, with all four separated by roughly a thousand pounds at their respective maximums.
